About Spooky Crew Hunt Helper
A fan-made field companion and strategy publication for Phasmophobia investigators, created and maintained by Warlock's Screen Flicker (@WarlockWeirdoTV), a creator covering movies, games, and the hidden details inside them. Motto: keeping you in The Know.
Why this project exists
Most ghost references are either raw data tables or long wiki pages, and neither is much help mid-contract when the lights are flickering. This project exists to close that gap: to turn community knowledge into decisions you can actually make in the moment. Instead of asking you to memorize thirty stat blocks, it asks what you observed and walks you to what that observation does and does not prove.
The site has two halves. The guides and news pages are original long-form writing on identification method, survival, and patch context. The Hunt Tools page is a free interactive toolkit: a Smart Scanner that cross-references the evidence and behavior you log against all 29 ghosts and explains its reasoning like a teammate in the truck, plus a codex, gear notes, map guidance, and a training academy. The tools page carries no advertising, so nothing interrupts a live contract.
How the scanner logic works
The scanner is deliberately conservative. Confirmed evidence keeps only the ghosts that can present it, ruled-out evidence removes every ghost that requires it, and behavior observations act as filters rather than answers. The reasoning notes show why each candidate survived or fell, which matters more than the shortlist itself: seeing the logic teaches you to run the same elimination in your head when the app is not open. It is a training aid disguised as a tool.
What "unofficial fan companion" means in practice
It means three things. First, no affiliation: Kinetic Games has not reviewed, endorsed, or contributed to anything here, and nothing on this site speaks for them. Second, no copied material: every description is written in our own words from public knowledge and community research, with no game text, art, audio, or screenshots reproduced. Third, no authority: when this site and the game disagree, the game is right, and we would appreciate a correction report so we can fix it.
Verify after every patch
Every number here, from hunt thresholds to movement speeds, is a community estimate observed from play, and the game is actively being reworked through 2026. A single balance pass can quietly shift a threshold or move a hiding spot. That is why every data-heavy page carries a last-verified date, why the corrections log below records what changed and when, and why the honest answer to almost any mechanics question ends with: confirm it in-game.
About the game
Phasmophobia is a co-op psychological horror game by Kinetic Games, a UK studio based in Southampton. It launched in Early Access on September 18, 2020 and reached PS5 (with PSVR2) and Xbox Series X|S on October 29, 2024. A Nintendo Switch 2 release is tied to the 1.0 launch window, now expected in the second half of 2027, with 2026 focused on quality-of-life improvements, fixes, and reworks (including the 13 Willow Street rework scheduled for July 21, 2026). As of July 2, 2026 the current build is v0.17.1.0.
This is an unofficial, fan-made project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Kinetic Games or the Phasmophobia development team.
